My name is Thomas! As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster...wait, that's Goodfellas! What I meant to say is I've loved creating visual art, whether it be drawings, paintings, silkscreen prints, or photography. Growing up I had the good fortune to have an uncle who worked as a photographer and I learned a great deal from his work, and I still do to this day. He was and is an inspiration.
I purchased my first 35mm SLR camera in 1984 on the day I graduated United States Marine Corps boot camp and have used 35mm exclusively since that time. Sadly, circumstances in life change and as a result of some of those changes I lost all of my early work in film medium. With the advent of digital photography and the advances in it to produce fully capable equipment, I've switched from film to all digital media now.
I am almost entirely self taught through careful observation, countless hours of self-study, and reading or viewing the works of other successful and accomplished photographer's teachings. Among those I have devoted a great deal of study to are Ansel Adams, Scott Kelby, and Joe Edelman as well as several outstanding local photographers in my home state of Minnesota.
My secondary drive and love in photography when not otherwise engaged in client photoshoots is centered on capturing nature, devoid of references to human influence or alteration. I work in natural light almost exclusively. I have shot weddings, personal clients' events, portraits, pets, and wildlife. My love of the outdoors and nature drives me to capture unique photographs of the world around me.
I continue to work a "day job" as a customer service professional simply because I love helping people, making them smile, and trying to brighten their day in any way I can. But that attitude doesn't get left at work when the day is done. It's an attitude that is ingrained in me from an early age.
I would absolutely love an opportunity to photograph you, your family, or create a series of corporate headshots for you. You may feel free to call, text, email, or send me a Facebook message if you wish by visiting the contact page here on the web site.
I would also like to ask that if you enjoy my photography, please help support it so that I may continue to deliver quality content to you. Every share and every like on my Facebook page helps me to succeed.
If you should find yourself in Quartzsite Arizona in January and February 2018 and beyond, be sure to look me up. I'll be selling prints of my nature and landscape work during the swap meets down there.
